1) for DV in (IEEE1394) looking at capture, dvgrab (both use libdv?) and libdv (should use dv1394 rather than raw - see dvgrab). note libdv decodes/encodes dv stuff - raw and dv1394 just grab frames)
capture displays (using qt) live stream. but should use SDL for whole thing (SDL, glib, embedded lisp (see abuse_sdl as example) or python interpreter with extended lisp/python).
